A conceptual celebration at Johannesdal 1207, inspired by Nelly and Romain’s shared love of fragrance. The scent notes of powder, fruit, florals, woods and gourmand became the starting point for a series of sculptural botanical installations, translating fragrance into form.

Set at Johannesdal 1207 in the Cape Winelands, Nelly and Romain’s wedding began with an unexpected source of inspiration: fragrance. Drawing from the language of perfumery, we explored five scent families, powdery, fruity, floral, woody and gourmand, interpreting each through flowers, texture, colour and form. Rather than following a traditional wedding floral aesthetic, the design became a sensory study, with conceptual and sculptural floral installations creating a distinct identity for the celebration.
Each fragrance note informed a different botanical expression, allowing the floral story to unfold throughout the spaces of Johannesdal 1207. Familiar flowers and natural materials were reimagined through unexpected compositions, balancing softness with structure and romance with a more contemporary approach to Cape Winelands wedding floral design. The result was deeply personal to Nelly and Romain, transforming something they share and love into an immersive visual language unique to their celebration.
